Even after CM Approval how much time you will take to nab the corrupt officers? Justice Rakesh Jain of HC asks the Vigilance Bureau.

Chandigarh, 11.02.2016: On Thursday, Justice Rakesh Jain of High Court asked the Counsel appearing for Vijilance Bureau, even after CM Approval, how much more time you will take in completing the probe against the corrupt office? The observation came while hearing a petition filed by Pardeep Rapria, Advocate for Petitioner Rakesh Bains, in connection with the corruption in the construction work in the Municipal Committee, Sahbad, Kurukshetra. Mr. Rapria apprised the court that the matter is not only restricted to the use of inferior quality in the construction work, but shockingly a road which was never constructed has been shown be constructed on paper and all the concerned officers including Engineers, SDO etc had inspected and passed the bill of contractors for construction of non-existent road. And, after lapse of more than one year three months; in the name of investigation the Vigilance Bureau had only collected the samples from the roads and that is also after receiving notice from the High Court. When the court was apprised by the counsel that the Petitioner had provided a recorded CD wherein the senior officers of the Municipal Committee had been openly demanding 2% bribe for clearing the bills of contractors, on this Justice Rakesh Jain had to make sarcastic comment that, 2% has become a decent norm in the execution of public worksAnd, court asked the counsel appearing for Vigilance Bureau, how much time you will take in completing the probe?  On this counsel replied that he will have to seek instructions on this, then court directed the counsel to apprise the court within 4 days (on Tuesday) about exact time that will be required for completion of probe.
