Chandigarh: Thursday 28.04.2016: On
Thursday Justice Paramjit Singh Dhaliwal of the Chandigarh High Court, issued
notice to the Commissioner, Municipal, Gurgaon and Haryana Govt., for not
removing the shops illegally constructed on the Green Belt/Service Road of the
Colony. The Commissioner has been directed to file detailed report in the
matter by 13 The order came after hearing Mr. Pardeep Rapria, Advocate for of
residents of Firoz Gandhi Colony, Gurgaon, who argued before the High Court that
Mr. Sukhbir Kataria, the former Haryana Minister, during his tenure as a
Sarpanch of village – Gurgaon, had illegally got constructed shops on
public-path and rented the same to his near and dear ones. The local resident
raised hue and cry, but as the then Sarpanch Sukhbir Kataria had close
association with INLD Party, therefore the voice of people was not heard by the
authorities. Though, the rent-agreement had expired in the year 2005, but due
to the patronage of the Sukhbir Kataria, who had become the Cabinet Minister in
the congress regiem, the close relatives of minister kept on occupying the
shops without any rent-agreement with Municipal Corporation. Moreover, it is
alleged in the petition that these shops are not at all supposed on the Green
Belt or Service-Road. Ironically, the present BJP Government also turned
deaf-ear to the genuine grievance of the people; who were tormented by the anti-social
elements; who gathers at the liquor and meat shops situated on the public-path.
Therefore, left with no option the local residents knocked the doors of High
Court.
Mr.
Rapria counsel for the Petitioner residents alleged that the civic authorities
are hand-in-glove with the encroachers and due to extraneous considerations no
action has been taken on the series of complaints of the residents since last
more than fifteen years. Keeping in view the gravity of the case the High Court
has directed the Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Gurgaon to file details
status report in the matter by 13.05.2016.
